1St Bank has recently published a brochure for its customers warning of the dangers of counterfeit check fraud, lottery fraud, 
 Advanced-fee scams.  This is a ground-breaking, innovative effort by 1ST Bank and it will undoubtedly protect many innocent victims
 who otherwise might deposit a counterfeit check into their 1ST Bank account, not having any idea of the financial damage it would 
 do to them  when the check  bounces.  The brochure, shown below in pdf or jpg format, is available in the lobby of 1ST Bank branches.
 
 CUFF has been encouraging banks to do this for several years following the arrest of victims who innocently deposited counterfeit 
 checks into their accounts.  Even if a victim isn't arrested, banks still hold the customer liable for any money lost from the bounced 
 check.  The  damage done to the customer and the bank has been overwhelming.  

  Banks are the best sources for publicizing these scams as they have the last contact with the victims and can advise their customers
  before it is too late, which protects the customer and the bank's stockholders.  - Thank you, 1ST Bank, for recognizing this!
